  • 2 cups Rice (mixed grains, including black rice)
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 Carrot (small)
  • 1 tsp Brown Rice Oil
  • 1 tsp Black Salt (or sea salt)

Cooking Instructions

Rinse the rice and mixed grains thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear, typically 2-3 times. Place them in your rice cooker and add 2 cups of water, matching your usual water-to-rice ratio. Let it soak for about 30 minutes. (Optional tip: Add a piece of dried kelp (kombu) to the water for extra umami flavor.)

Wash the carrot well. Finely mince the carrot into small pieces. Aim for a size similar to the rice grains so it blends seamlessly into the rice. Using a food processor can make this step much quicker and easier.
