(Mid-Stage Baby Food) Chicken, Mushroom, and Sweet Pumpkin Porridge Recipe
A nutritious baby food recipe for your 200-day-old baby. This recipe balances chicken, mushrooms, and sweet pumpkin for a delicious and easily digestible meal.
Main Ingredients- Rice flour 40g (fine rice flour recommended)
- Chicken (tenderloin or breast) 50g
- Button or Shiitake mushroom 15g (adds aromatic flavor)
- Cold water 100ml (used to soften ingredients during cooking)
- Chicken broth 400ml (the secret to a rich and deep flavor)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
If you have pre-made chicken broth stored frozen or chilled, thaw it until it’s smooth and easy to pour. Using fresh broth will make it even more delicious.
Step 2
In a clean bowl, combine the rice flour (40g) with cold water (100ml). Whisk until smooth, ensuring there are no lumps. Thoroughly mixing is key to a smooth texture.
Step 3
Finely mince or puree the pre-cooked chicken, sweet pumpkin, and mushroom cubes using a blender or knife until very fine. Ensure the pieces are small enough for your baby to chew easily. (This step assumes pre-made cubes are being used in the cooking process.)
Step 4
Pour the rice flour and water mixture into a pot. Add all the prepared chicken, sweet pumpkin, and mushroom cubes. Finally, pour in the thawed chicken broth (400ml) and stir to combine all the ingredients well.
Step 5
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer gently for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly to reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thick, add a little more water or broth. If it’s too thin, continue simmering to thicken. Aim for a smooth, easily manageable texture for your baby.
