Key Ingredients

  • 1 pack Nongshim Acorn Jjoljjolmyeon (includes acorn noodles, separate flake packet, and bibimmyeon sauce)
  • 1/5 cucumber
  • 20g carrot
  • 1/2 hard-boiled egg
  • 10g cabbage

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your Nongshim Acorn Jjoljjolmyeon. This package contains chewy acorn noodles, a separate packet with flakes (vegetables and fish cakes), and a bibimmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) sauce.

Step 1

Step 2

Unlike regular bibimmyeon, Acorn Jjoljjolmyeon includes colorful vegetable and cute acorn-shaped fish cake flakes, making it visually appealing and nutritious. The acorn fish cakes are especially delightful and appealing to children!

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the cucumber, carrot, and cabbage thoroughly. Slice them into very thin julienne strips using a mandoline slicer or a knife. This will make them easy to eat with the noodles.

Step 3

Step 4

Bring 600ml of water to a rolling boil in a pot. Once boiling, add the acorn noodles and the vegetable flakes from the separate packet. Cook for exactly 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Be sure to time this carefully to prevent the noodles from becoming mushy.

Step 4

Step 5

Quickly drain the cooked noodles and flakes into a colander. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to achieve a firm, chewy texture. Rinsing under cold water is key to keeping the noodles from sticking and maintaining their delightful chewiness.

Step 5

Step 6

Now it’s time to add the sweet and tangy bibimmyeon sauce. Drizzle the included sauce packet attractively over the noodles.

Step 6

Step 7

This bibim sauce is made with a base of plum and various fruits, offering a deep and rich flavor. The perfect balance of sweet and tangy notes makes it an excellent pairing with the noodles.

Step 7

Step 8

Arrange the thinly julienned cucumber, carrot, and cabbage prepared earlier on top of the noodles. The fresh vegetables will add a wonderful crunch and freshness.

Step 8

Step 9

Finally, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for a nutty aroma. Voila! Your Nongshim Acorn Jjoljjolmyeon is complete, looking exactly like the picture on the package! Enjoy this chewy and delicious noodle dish!
