No-Bake Strawberry Cream Cake with Bread Slices

Cake Base

  • 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat bread)
  • 200g cold heavy cream
  • 20g sugar (or adjust to taste)
  • 12 fresh strawberries (adjust quantity based on size)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the bread slices that will form the base of the cake. Using a round cutter about 10-12 cm in diameter, or a rice bowl, press down firmly on the bread slices to cut out circular shapes. You can trim off the crusts or leave them on; removing the crusts is recommended for a softer texture.

Step 2

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly under running water. It’s crucial to remove the stems and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Excess moisture can make the cream watery. Slice the strawberries into 3 or 4 pieces each for easy eating.

Step 3

Add 20g of sugar to the cold heavy cream all at once and whip it. Start at medium speed with a hand mixer or whisk, then gradually increase the speed. The key is to whip until stiff peaks form, meaning the cream holds its shape firmly. When you tilt the bowl, the cream should not slide off. You’ll know it’s ready when it forms stiff peaks.

Step 4

Now it’s time to assemble the cake. Place one prepared bread slice on your serving plate. Spread a generous amount of whipped cream over it. Next, arrange the sliced strawberries attractively on top of the cream, then cover them with another layer of cream. Place another bread slice on top and repeat the process. (Sequence: Bread-Cream-Strawberries-Cream-Bread)

Step 5

After placing the final bread slice, coat the entire cake smoothly with the remaining whipped cream. Ensure you cover the sides evenly for a more appealing look. Use a spatula to smooth the surface.

Step 6

The cake is delicious to eat immediately, but chilling it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes will help the cream set slightly, resulting in a more stable and delightful texture. For decoration, you can sprinkle powdered sugar, or use leftover strawberries and mint leaves to make it even more special. Refer to the video for detailed decoration ideas 🙂
