Mini Pork Cutlets: A Kid-Favorite Delight!
Soft and Delicious Mini Pork Cutlets That Kids Absolutely Love!
My daughter, who’s almost 15 months old, is always looking for new foods! There’s so much out there for her to try. So, I prepared these mini pork cutlets. I took a little bite to taste, and almost ate them all myself! Guess I still have a child’s palate. 😉
Main Ingredients- Ground pork 100g
- 1 Tbsp minced onion
- 1 Tbsp minced carrot
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp grated apple (or apple juice)
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups breadcrumbs (paper cup measure)
- 1/2 cup grapeseed oil (paper cup measure, for frying)
Seasoning & Marinade- 1 pinch salt
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin)
- A dash of pepper (optional for baby food; consider parsley flakes instead)
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin)
- A dash of pepper (optional for baby food; consider parsley flakes instead)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ground pork. Place the ground pork in a bowl. Add salt, cooking wine, minced garlic, grated apple, minced carrot, and minced onion. (For baby food, you can substitute pepper with parsley flakes based on preference.)
Step 2
Knead the mixture thoroughly with your hands until well combined. Be careful not to overwork it, as this can cause the juices to escape and the mixture to become watery. Knead by firmly pressing with your fist. Use cool hands for kneading.
Step 3
Shape the mixture into bite-sized pieces. Making them small and cute will make them even more appealing to children! Feel free to shape them as you like.
Step 4
Prepare for frying the cutlets. On a tray or plate, arrange the all-purpose flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate sections. Coat each shaped pork patty first in flour, then dip in the egg wash, and finally coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
Step 5
After coating them in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs in order, you’ll have perfectly shaped mini pork cutlets ready to go! Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the cutlets to ensure a crispier texture when fried.
Step 6
Heat enough grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. You don’t need to fill the pan with excessive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the mini pork cutlets and immediately reduce the heat to low. This ensures they cook through evenly without burning.
Step 7
Fry the cutlets until golden brown on both sides. After frying one side, flip and cook for about another minute. You’ll hear a sizzling sound when the oil starts to bubble vigorously, which indicates they are almost cooked. Cook for an additional minute before removing them. This will result in juicy and crispy mini pork cutlets!
Step 8
Serve the freshly fried, warm mini pork cutlets with ketchup for the kids – they’ll love it! 🍝 You can also serve them on top of tomato spaghetti or make mini burgers by placing them between soft rolls. 🍔 Enjoy this special meal!
