Main Ingredients
- Oatmeal 30g (approx. 1/4 cup)
- Chicken Breast 100g (optional)
- Water 200ml (or store-bought chicken broth/bone broth)
- Minced Garlic 10g (approx. 2 tsp)
- Chopped Scallions 10g (approx. 2 tbsp)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black Pepper (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a microwave-safe bowl with some depth. Add 30g of oatmeal and 200ml of water (or chicken broth, bone broth, etc.). Stir in 10g of minced garlic. Using broth will add a deeper, richer flavor.
Step 2
If using frozen chicken breast, thaw it first and then shred it into small pieces using a fork or chopsticks. Add the shredded chicken breast to the bowl. Also, add 10g of chopped scallions. Season with salt and black pepper to your liking.
Step 3
Place the bowl with all the ingredients into the microwave and cook for about 4 minutes. Cook until the oatmeal absorbs the liquid and the chicken breast is fully cooked. (Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage.)
Step 4
Once cooking is complete, carefully remove the bowl and stir well. The porridge might seem a bit thin initially, but as it sits, the oatmeal will thicken it into a rich and hearty chicken porridge. This incredibly simple microwave oatmeal chicken porridge is a complete meal on its own, no side dishes needed!
