Main Ingredients

  • Leftover Pork Bulgogi: 1 cup (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • Cooked Rice: 1 bowl (use warm rice)
  • Cheongyang Pepper: 1/2 (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • Onion: 1/4
  • Green Onion: A small amount
  • Egg: 1

Seasoning & Others

  • Soy Sauce: 1/2 Tbsp (adjust based on bulgogi’s saltiness)
  • Sesame Oil: 1 tsp
  • Cooking Oil: A little (if needed)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, finely mince 1/4 of an onion. Mincing the onion finely will make the texture of the fried rice smoother and enhance its natural sweetness.

Step 2

Remove the stem from the Cheongyang pepper, shake out the seeds, and mince it very finely, just like the onion. If you don’t prefer spicy food, you can omit it or reduce the amount.

Step 3

Combine the minced onion, minced Cheongyang pepper, and chopped green onion in one place. Having the vegetables prepped this way allows you to cook the fried rice smoothly without losing track of the steps.

Step 4

Heat a wok or a wide pan over medium heat. Add the leftover pork bulgogi and stir-fry. Since the bulgogi itself contains quite a bit of fat, you might not need much additional cooking oil. Stir-fry the bulgogi until it releases some of its delicious fat, enhancing its flavor.

Step 5

Once the bulgogi is moderately stir-fried, add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice. Use a spatula to break up the rice grains and stir-fry them thoroughly with the bulgogi, ensuring everything is well combined. Make sure to stir-fry until the rice grains are separated.

Step 6

When the rice and bulgogi are mostly mixed, add the prepped vegetables (onion, pepper, green onion), soy sauce, and sesame oil. Stir-fry everything over high heat quickly until the ingredients are harmoniously combined. Adjust the soy sauce based on the saltiness of the bulgogi. Add sesame oil at the end for a fragrant finish.

Step 7

Once the fried rice is ready, heat a little oil in another pan and fry an egg. You can cook it to your preference, whether sunny-side up or over easy. Plate the finished fried rice attractively, and then top it with the freshly fried egg.

Step 8

Serve the delicious-looking Pork Bulgogi Fried Rice immediately while it’s warm! The combination of fresh vegetables and the fried egg makes for an even richer and more satisfying meal.
