Main Ingredients- 2 packs of ramen noodles
- 1/2 cup of rice cake soup slices (tteokguk tteok, approx. 70g)
- 1/2 lobster (pre-shelled and portioned recommended)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly clean the lobster. It’s convenient to separate the meat from the shell and cut it into bite-sized pieces before cooking, making it easier to eat later. (We’re using the body/tail meat.)
Step 2
Rinse the tteokguk tteok (rice cake soup slices) under cold water. Adding these will give your ramen a more satisfying texture and deepen the broth’s flavor.
Step 3
Prepare the vegetables. Slice the green onion diagonally and finely chop the red chili pepper. You can either thinly slice or mince the garlic, according to your preference. If you enjoy a spicier kick, feel free to add an extra chili pepper.
Step 4
Now, it’s time to choose your ramen! Opt for a ramen with a spicy broth that pairs well with seafood for an even more delicious result. Use your favorite ramen brand.
Step 5
In a pot, add about 2 cups more water than you would typically use for ramen. Once the water comes to a rolling boil, add the ramen soup base and season the broth.
Step 6
Add the tteokguk tteok to the pot and let it simmer. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the rice cakes are soft and chewy.
Step 7
Stir in 1/2 tablespoon of ssamjang to add depth to the broth. Ssamjang contributes a wonderful savory and umami flavor.
Step 8
Add the prepared lobster meat to the pot. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the lobster turns bright red. Be careful not to overcook, as the meat can become tough.
Step 9
Now, add the ramen noodles. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the noodles are done. Refer to the cooking time instructions on the ramen package.
Step 10
Finally, add about 1/3 teaspoon of black pepper to enhance the aroma. Adjust to your taste.
Step 11
Add the sliced garlic, green onion, and red chili pepper. This completes the ramen with a refreshing and spicy flavor profile.
Step 12
Lastly, stir in 1 tablespoon of gochugaru for a vibrant color and an extra kick of spiciness. Your lobster ramen is now ready! Enjoy your delicious creation.
