Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully pour the saeng-gye you purchased onto a sieve. Place the saeng-gye under running cold water and gently shake it with your hands to rinse. Be careful not to rub too hard, as this can cause the saeng-gye to break apart. As the clumped saeng-gye loosens in the clear water, impurities will be removed.

Step 2

It’s important to portion the cleaned saeng-gye into amounts you would typically use for one meal. Pre-portioning like this means you won’t have to defrost and re-store it every time you need some; you can conveniently take out just what you need. After removing as much water as possible from the portioned saeng-gye, neatly place it into a ziplock bag in individual servings.

Step 3

After pressing out as much air as possible from the ziplock bag and sealing it tightly, store it in the freezer. Removing excess air helps prevent the saeng-gye from freezing solid or deteriorating during storage. Stored this way in the freezer, you can maintain the fresh taste and aroma of the saeng-gye for a long time. Simply take it out of the freezer whenever needed and use it directly in your cooking!
