Kid-Friendly & Delicious Ham Fried Rice
Easy Ham Fried Rice Recipe for Toddlers
A delightful and nutritious ham fried rice recipe designed for your little ones. This recipe is packed with flavor and texture that toddlers will love.
Ingredients
- 50g Ham (finely diced for children)
- 100g Cooked Rice (warm or cooled)
- 1 Tbsp Dried Seaweed Flakes (Kimchi-garu)
- 1 Large Egg
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely dice the ham into small, bite-sized pieces that are easy for your child to chew and swallow. Ensure the pieces are small enough to prevent choking hazards. If using regular ham, consider briefly blanching it to make it even safer for young children.
Step 2
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Swirl the pan gently to ensure the oil coats the bottom evenly.
Step 3
Crack 1 egg into a separate bowl and whisk it well. Pour the whisked egg into the heated frying pan. Using chopsticks or a spatula, gently scramble the egg until it’s fluffy and cooked through but still moist. Avoid overcooking it.
Step 4
Once the scrambled eggs are cooked, push them to one side of the pan. Add the diced ham to the empty space and stir-fry with the eggs. The ham will release its savory oils, creating a richer flavor as it cooks with the scrambled eggs.
Step 5
When the ham and eggs are well combined and cooked, add 100g of cooked rice. Use your spatula to gently break up any clumps of rice and stir everything together until the ham, eggs, and rice are evenly mixed. Continue to stir-fry over medium-low heat to prevent the rice from sticking to the pan.
Step 6
Carefully transfer the delicious ham fried rice onto a plate that’s appealing to your child. Using a plate with their favorite character can make mealtime even more exciting!
Step 7
Finally, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of dried seaweed flakes (kimchi-garu) over the fried rice for an added touch of savory flavor. Your wonderful ham fried rice for your child is now ready! Serve warm and enjoy.
