  • 1/2 Ripe avocado
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1 Handful Lettuce
  • 1 Slice Cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Honey mustard sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Butter

Beef Bulgogi Marinade (Preparation)

  • 400g Thinly sliced beef for bulgogi
  • 1/3 Pear, grated (or 2 Tbsp pear juice)
  • 5 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 0.5 Tbsp Minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Plum extract (Maesilcheong)
  • Pinch of Black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the burger vegetables. Thinly slice the onion. Slice the avocado and tomato. Using fresh vegetables will significantly enhance the burger’s flavor.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. The butter will add a wonderful richness to the burger.

Step 2

Step 3

Slice the hamburger bun in half and toast the cut sides in the melted butter until golden brown. This creates a crisp exterior and a tender interior, making the bun even more delicious.

Step 3

Step 4

Remove the toasted buns from the pan and set aside. Add the sliced onions to the same pan and sauté until translucent. Sautéing the onions well will bring out their natural sweetness.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, it’s time to cook the bulgogi. Take 200g of the marinated bulgogi and shape it into a round, flat patty, similar to a hamburger patty. You can add a little more butter to the pan if needed. Cook over medium-high heat until nicely browned on both sides to keep the juices locked in.

Step 5

Step 6

Spread honey mustard sauce and ketchup on the cut sides of the toasted hamburger bun, according to your preference. Don’t be shy with the sauces; they add a burst of flavor!

Step 6

Step 7

On the bottom half of the bun, layer a generous amount of fresh lettuce, followed by the sautéed sweet onions.

Step 7

Step 8

Place the creamy avocado slices and fresh tomato slices on top of the onions. The colors will look beautiful!

Step 8

Step 9

Carefully place the cooked bulgogi patty on top of the tomato slices. The thick bulgogi patty looks incredibly appetizing!

Step 9

Step 10

Top the bulgogi patty with a slice of cheddar cheese. The residual heat from the patty will gently melt the cheese, adding another layer of deliciousness.

Step 10

Step 11

Finally, place the top half of the bun on the burger. Secure everything with a skewer to prevent the ingredients from shifting. Your delicious Avocado Bulgogi Burger is now complete! Feel free to add pickles or jalapeños for an extra kick.
