With the weather getting warmer, I’ve been craving sweet and tangy fruits, and the vibrant red color of strawberries is just so appealing. You don’t need any special fruit washes! With common household ingredients like salt and vinegar, you can achieve perfectly clean strawberries. If you’re curious how, stick around until the end! Let’s get started on washing these delicious strawberries!
Washing Ingredients- Fresh strawberries (as much as you want to eat)
- Salt (appropriate amount)
- Vinegar (a few drops)
- Clean water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a clean bowl, add the appropriate amount of salt and pour in water. Stir well until the salt is completely dissolved. This saltwater solution helps to remove dirt and sanitize the strawberries.
Step 2
Gently place the prepared strawberries into the saltwater solution. This step helps to loosen any dirt or residue on the surface of the berries. You can gently swirl them for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Step 3
If you have vinegar, add a few drops to the water for even more effective cleaning. The acidity in vinegar can help remove pesticide residues and maintain freshness. Give them another gentle swirl.
Step 4
This is the final rinse! Carefully rinse the strawberries multiple times under cool, running water. It’s important to wash away any remaining salt or vinegar. Make sure to rinse the area around the stem thoroughly.
Step 5
Voila! Your strawberries are now perfectly washed and ready to be enjoyed, without any worries about residue. Now you can create delicious strawberry desserts or snacks!
