Step 1
First, prepare your fresh mini kabocha squash. Wash it thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or dust. Pat it completely dry with a paper towel. Excess moisture can make the squash mushy when cooked, so be sure to dry it well.

Get a microwave-safe dish ready. Place the washed and dried mini kabocha squash inside the dish. Ensure it sits stable within the container.

Now, microwave it for about 2 minutes. This step partially cooks the squash, making it warm enough to easily remove the seeds. The exact time may vary slightly depending on the size of your squash.
