Ingredients
  • 1 roll of Kimbap (prepared with your favorite fillings)
  • 1 Hot dog (frozen hot dogs work well too)
  • 3 Large eggs (you can adjust the quantity)
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese (more is always better!)
  • Pinch of salt, to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare one roll of kimbap. While the TV show used 4 eggs, 3 eggs are perfectly sufficient to make a delicious egg pizza. Feel free to adjust the number of eggs to your preference.

Step 2

In a clean bowl, gently crack the 3 eggs. Whisk them thoroughly with a fork or whisk until well combined. Season lightly with a pinch of salt to your taste. Be careful not to add too much salt.

Step 3

If using frozen hot dogs, microwave them for about 1 minute to soften them, making them easier to slice. Once softened, slice the hot dogs into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 cm thick.

Step 4

Now, heat your pan over medium-low heat. Add a generous amount of cooking oil. Once the oil is shimmering, pour in all the whisked egg mixture. As soon as the edges of the egg start to set, immediately reduce the heat to low. This will help cook the egg evenly without burning.

Step 5

When the egg is slightly set around the edges, arrange the sliced kimbap and hot dog pieces on top of the egg, covering about half of the surface each. It looks like a halved pizza! Arranging them this way makes for a prettier presentation and easier eating.

Step 6

Next, generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the kimbap and hot dog. If you love cheese, don’t be shy! My kids love cheese, so I added quite a lot – you can barely see the kimbap underneath!

Step 7

Once the cheese is added, cover the pan with a lid immediately. Let it cook over low heat, allowing the cheese to melt completely and meld with the other ingredients. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Voila! Your delicious Hot Dog Kimbap Egg Pizza is ready. Carefully slide it onto a plate while it’s still warm. Now it’s time to enjoy!

Step 9

Here’s the key tip: cooking over low heat throughout the process is crucial to achieve that beautiful golden-brown color without burning the bottom, just like in the picture. (Oops, the focus is a bit off in this picture! Haha.)

Step 10

Once the egg pizza is nicely cooked, let it cool slightly. Then, use kitchen scissors to cut it into serving-sized pieces, such as triangles, for an even more appealing presentation.

Step 11

This Hot Dog Kimbap Egg Pizza is delicious on its own, but it pairs exceptionally well with tteokbokki! Make it whenever you’re craving a special snack. It’s a crowd-pleaser that everyone, young and old, will enjoy.
