Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Today, we’re making ‘Honey French Toast’ using honey instead of sugar for a moister, sweeter taste! Enjoy the fantastic combination of soft bread and sweet honey. If you have sugar-free aronia jam or cinnamon sugar at home, you can enjoy even more diverse flavors by adding them.

Step 1

Step 2

First, prepare all the ingredients needed for making French toast. Fresh eggs, creamy milk, flavorful butter, and sweet honey! It’s best to use bread that isn’t too thin so it absorbs the egg mixture well and tastes even better.

Step 2

Step 3

Crack 4 eggs into a measuring cup. Using fresh eggs will enhance the flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Using a fork, gently whisk the eggs until they are well combined, avoiding too much foam. Stir until the yolks and whites are fully blended.

Step 4

Step 5

You can cut the bread in half diagonally or use the whole slices, depending on your preference. Here, we’ve cut them in half diagonally for easier eating.

Step 5

Step 6

In the whisked egg mixture, add 100ml of milk and 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix thoroughly until well combined, ensuring there are no lumps. It’s important to stir enough so the honey dissolves completely.

Step 6

Step 7

Ensure the honey is well blended into the egg and milk mixture to create a glossy batter. The subtle sweetness of honey will further enhance the flavor of the French toast.

Step 7

Step 8

Heat a frying pan over low heat. Cooking over high heat can burn the outside while leaving the inside undercooked, so maintaining low heat is crucial.

Step 8

Step 9

Once the pan is heated, add 20g of butter and let it melt slowly. Be careful not to burn the butter, and coat the entire surface of the pan.

Step 9

Step 10

Dip the prepared bread slices into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Be mindful not to soak the bread for too long, as it can become soggy.

Step 10

Step 11

The secret to moist and delicious French toast is not to soak the bread in the egg mixture for too long. Dip each side for about 10 seconds or less, then place it in the pan with melted butter.

Step 11

Step 12

Cook over low heat, flipping occasionally, until golden brown and appetizing. It’s best to cook patiently until the edges turn a golden brown color, ensuring the inside is heated through.

Step 12

Step 13

The well-cooked French toast boasts a wonderfully soft and moist texture. It’s slightly crispy on the outside yet moist from the egg mixture on the inside, creating a melt-in-your-mouth sensation.

Step 13

Step 14

Using honey instead of sugar results in a subtle sweetness that isn’t overly sugary, with an exceptionally moist texture. You can enjoy two different flavors by lightly sprinkling sugar-free aronia jam or sweet cinnamon sugar on top. It’s recommended to enjoy it warm right away!
