  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Chicken tenderloin 200-250g (Recommended for a tender texture compared to chicken breast)
  • All-purpose flour 1.5-2 Tbsp (Enough to bind the mixture)
  • Cooking oil 1 Tbsp (For pan-frying)
  • Salt a pinch (Adjust to your child’s taste)
  • Pepper a pinch (Optional, omit if your child dislikes it)
  • Carrot 1/4 medium (Finely minced)
  • Sweet corn 1/3 Tbsp (Frozen or canned is fine)
  • Peas a suitable amount (Frozen or boiled peas)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the vegetables. Finely mince the carrot so it’s easy for children to eat. Also, prepare the sweet corn and peas. If using frozen vegetables, thaw them before use. Besides carrots, you can also finely chop other vegetables your child enjoys, such as broccoli or onion.

Step 1

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the chicken tenderloin, prepared minced vegetables (carrot, sweet corn, peas), a pinch of salt, and a pinch of pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands. For easier shaping, you can finely chop or mash the chicken tenderloin using a fork or knife.

Step 2

Step 3

If the mixture is too wet, add about 1.5 Tbsp of all-purpose flour and mix by kneading gently with your hands until it’s a workable consistency. Shape the mixture into bite-sized pieces, round shapes, or elongated shapes that are easy for your child to eat. Using cookie cutters can also add a fun element!

Step 3

Step 4

Heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Place the shaped chicken nuggets in the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Ensure they are cooked through completely to avoid any undercooked parts. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning.

Step 4

Step 5

Your homemade chicken nuggets are ready! They make a fantastic side dish for children’s school lunchboxes or a simple snack for adults. They are delicious served immediately, or you can cool them down, store them, and reheat later.
