Key Ingredients- 20 cooked chestnuts (approx. 300g)
- 150g granulated sugar
- 100g milk
- Pinch of cinnamon powder
- Pinch of salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully peel the skin off the cooked chestnuts. It’s easiest to peel them while they are still warm.
Step 2
Place the peeled chestnuts and 100g of milk into a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain. For an extra silky texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve.
Step 3
In a wide saucepan, combine the blended chestnut puree, 150g of granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. The sugar not only sweetens but also helps to achieve the perfect jam consistency.
Step 4
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon, scraping the bottom to prevent sticking, for about 10 minutes, or until the jam reaches your desired thickness. Be watchful to avoid burning. Once thickened, your delicious chestnut jam is ready! For an enhanced aroma, stir in a pinch of cinnamon powder to taste.
