- 1/2 cup Bulgogi sauce (approx. 120ml)
- 1/2 cup Water (approx. 120ml)
- 4 Tbsp Mayonnaise (approx. 60ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gather all your fresh ingredients. You’ll need the bulgogi patties, ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, sweet onions, plus eggs and cheese! We’re preparing enough for four people to enjoy generously.
Step 2
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly under running water. Make sure to clean between the leaves to ensure they are fresh and pristine. After washing, gently pat the lettuce dry with paper towels. This step is important to prevent your burger from becoming soggy.
Step 3
Prepare your hamburger buns. You can toast them lightly for a crispier texture or use them as they are, depending on your preference. Lightly toasting adds a lovely crunch and nutty flavor.
Step 4
Now, let’s cook the bulgogi patties. Lightly oil a pan and heat it over medium heat. Place the patties in the pan and sear them until they are golden brown on both sides. Getting a nice sear is key for great flavor and appearance.
Step 5
While the patties are cooking, we’ll make the rich bulgogi sauce. Combine half a cup of store-bought bulgogi sauce with half a cup of water in a pan. Simmer over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens slightly. This process will infuse the patties with deep, savory flavor.
Step 6
Prepare the fried eggs next. These will add a wonderfully creamy element to your burger. Aim for a sunny-side-up or over-easy style for a luscious runny yolk.
Step 7
Add the seared patties to the bulgogi sauce mixture in the pan. Continue to cook over medium-low heat until the patties are completely cooked through and have absorbed the sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
Step 8
Spread about one tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly on the inside of each toasted hamburger bun. Mayonnaise helps keep the bun moist and adds a delightful richness.
Step 9
It’s time to assemble your burgers! Start by layering a generous amount of fresh lettuce on the bottom bun. Then, add thinly sliced onions and tomato slices for a fresh, juicy bite.
Step 10
Place a bulgogi patty, coated in the delicious sauce, on top of the vegetables. Follow with a slice of cheese; it will melt beautifully over the warm patty, adding extra creaminess.
Step 11
Finally, carefully place the freshly cooked fried egg on top of the cheese. Crown your creation by placing the top half of the bun over everything. Your homemade bulgogi burger is now ready!
Step 12
Voila! Your hearty and delicious homemade bulgogi burger is complete. Enjoy a wonderful mealtime with your family!
