Main Ingredients- 13 medium apples
Seasoning & Spices- 4 cups sugar (approx. 800g)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 4 cups sugar (approx. 800g)
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the 13 apples thoroughly under running water. Remove the core and seeds, then cut them into bite-sized pieces. It’s recommended to leave the peels on as they contain beneficial nutrients, but you can remove them if you prefer.
Step 2
Place the cut apple pieces into a blender or food processor. Blend them until they form a smooth puree. Ensure there are no large chunks left.
Step 3
Here’s the apple puree after blending all 13 apples. It should be smooth and ready for the next step.
Step 4
In a wide and deep pot, combine the apple puree and 4 cups of sugar. Stir well with a spatula until the sugar is evenly distributed and no lumps remain. Place the pot over medium heat and begin cooking the jam. Stir frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
Step 5
As the jam starts to boil, it can splatter due to the natural pectin in the apples. To prevent burns, you can cover the pot partially, leaving a gap for steam to escape. Alternatively, place the lid on loosely. When it boils up, lift the lid, stir the jam to prevent sticking, then replace the lid. Repeat this process until the jam thickens.
Step 6
After simmering for about 30 minutes, the jam should have reached a thicker consistency. Once it’s to your liking, reduce the heat to low. Now, stir in the 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon for a fragrant aroma. Continue to simmer gently on low heat for another 10 minutes, allowing the cinnamon flavor to infuse into the jam.
Step 7
Carefully ladle the warm jam into sterilized glass jars. This quantity should fill about one jar. Your delicious apple cinnamon jam is ready! It tastes wonderful on its own, or served with toast and butter. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
