Highway Rest Stop Style Butter-Roasted Potatoes
Parents’ Day Special Snack! Let’s make delicious ‘Highway Rest Stop Style Butter-Roasted Potatoes’ at home!
Hello everyone! Are you enjoying your holiday? Today, we’re going to make ‘Butter-Roasted Potatoes’, the perfect snack reminiscent of those found at highway rest stops. The combination of tender potatoes, rich butter, and sweet sugar is truly delightful!
Main Ingredients
- 300g Potatoes (approx. 2-3 medium-sized potatoes)
Seasoning & Others
- 20g Unsalted Butter
- 15g Sugar (adjust to taste)
- 20g Unsalted Butter
- 15g Sugar (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the potatoes thoroughly. Steam them for about 15-20 minutes until completely tender. Alternatively, you can bake them whole in the oven or microwave them until soft. It’s important that the potatoes are tender enough to be easily pierced with a fork.
Step 2
Once cooked, cut the potatoes into bite-sized chunks, about 4cm in diameter. Melt the 20g of butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the cut potatoes and roast them slowly, allowing them to turn golden brown and absorb the buttery flavor. Roasting until the exterior is nicely browned is key.
Step 3
When the potato surfaces are nicely browned, sprinkle the 15g of sugar evenly over them. The sugar will melt with the butter, creating a delicious coating that adds a sweet and savory flavor. You can lightly sauté for a bit longer until the sugar caramelizes for an even richer taste. Serve warm immediately for that authentic highway rest stop experience!
