Main Ingredients

  • 20 quail eggs
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 2 potatoes
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley

Mayonnaise Dressing

  • 5 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2/3 tsp salt
  • A pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the potatoes, which will be the base for the sandwich filling. Peel the potatoes thoroughly, cut them into manageable pieces, and steam them until completely tender. This usually takes about 15-20 minutes.

Step 1

Step 2

While the potatoes are steaming, let’s make the delicious dressing. In a medium bowl, combine 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of whole grain mustard for a flavorful kick, 2 tablespoons of sugar for a touch of sweetness, 2/3 teaspoon of salt to enhance the flavors, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix everything well. Finely chop the fresh parsley and add it to the dressing for an aromatic touch.

Step 2

Step 3

The cheddar cheese will add a lovely creaminess to the sandwich. Using a knife, cut the cheddar cheese slices into pieces that are easy to mix into the filling. Cutting them not too thin will help them blend beautifully with the mashed potatoes, enhancing the overall flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

To check if the potatoes are cooked, gently pierce them with a fork or skewer. If they are soft and easily pierced, they are ready. Carefully remove the steamed potatoes from the steamer and transfer them to a large mixing bowl.

Step 4

Step 5

While the potatoes are still hot, add the pre-cut cheddar cheese slices to the bowl. Use a fork or a potato masher to gently mash the potatoes and cheese together until smooth and well combined. The heat from the potatoes will help the cheese melt, creating a richer, creamier texture.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the prepared mayonnaise dressing to the mashed potato and cheese mixture. Gently mix everything together until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Step 7

Now it’s time to add the star ingredient: the whole boiled quail eggs! Peel the 20 quail eggs and carefully add them to the potato salad mixture. Gently fold them in to avoid breaking the delicate eggs. The whole quail eggs will provide a delightful bite and visual appeal to your sandwich.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, spread a generous amount of the prepared egg and potato filling onto 4 slices of bread. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread to complete the sandwiches. Cut them in half for easier handling and a beautiful presentation. Enjoy your hearty and delicious whole quail egg sandwiches!
