Main Ingredients
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • A small amount of carrot
  • 7 Vienna sausages (grill type)
  • 1 knob of butter (or olive oil)
  • 700ml water
  • Curry powder (to taste)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel the potatoes using a peeler and rinse them under running water. Then, cut them into bite-sized cubes, suitable for serving over rice.

Step 2

Peel and chop the onion into desired pieces. Wash and dice the carrot to a similar size as the potatoes. Slice the Vienna sausages in half or into bite-sized pieces.

Step 3

In a pot, combine the diced potatoes, sausages, carrots, and onions. Add a knob of butter (or a little olive oil) and sauté over medium heat until the ingredients are lightly golden. Sautéing enhances the flavor.

Step 4

Once the ingredients are sautéed, pour in 700ml of water.

Step 5

Cover the pot and simmer over medium-low heat until all the ingredients, especially the potatoes and carrots, are fully cooked and tender. You can check for doneness by piercing them with a chopstick; it should go in easily.

Step 6

With the heat on low, gradually add the curry powder, stirring well to dissolve any clumps. Adjust the amount of curry powder according to your preferred thickness and taste.

Step 7

Continue to simmer for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the curry thickens to your liking. Your delicious potato and ham curry rice bowl is now ready! Serve generously over warm rice and enjoy!
