Main Ingredients- 1 pack (450g) store-bought ox bone broth with beef tendon
- 250g frozen dumplings
- 2 Korean chili peppers (cheongyang peppers)
- 1/2 stalk green onion
- 1 egg
Seasoning & Additional Ingredients- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 300-400ml water
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 300-400ml water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Pour one pack (450g) of the store-bought ox bone broth with beef tendon into a pot. This forms the rich base of your soup.
Step 2
Prepare the frozen dumplings. If you thaw them in the refrigerator before cooking, they will cook faster. You can also add them directly from frozen, but you’ll need to extend the cooking time until they are fully cooked.
Step 3
Finely chop the green onion. Crack the egg into a separate bowl and lightly whisk it with the chopped green onion. This mixture will be added later for flavor and garnish.
Step 4
Add about 300-400ml (approximately 2 cups) of water to the pot with the ox bone broth. Add the finely chopped Korean chili peppers and bring the soup to a rolling boil over high heat. The chili peppers add a refreshing, slightly spicy kick that balances the richness of the broth.
Step 5
Once the broth is boiling vigorously, add the prepared dumplings. Stir in 1 tsp of minced garlic and 1/2 tsp of salt. Cook until the dumplings float to the surface, indicating they are cooked through. *Important Tip: Since store-bought ox bone broths can vary in saltiness, taste the broth before adding extra salt. Adjust seasoning as needed.*
Step 6
When the dumplings are fully cooked and floating, gently pour the whisked egg and green onion mixture over the surface of the soup. Let it cook for about 10-20 seconds until the egg starts to set, then gently stir to distribute. If you prefer a smoother, more integrated egg texture, you can stir it in immediately after pouring.
Step 7
Simmer briefly until the egg is cooked to your liking. Your simple and delicious Ox Bone Broth Dumpling Soup is ready! This is a fantastic option for a quick solo meal, a comforting dish on a lazy day, or even a restorative breakfast soup. Enjoy this easy and satisfying recipe!
