Hearty Bulgogi & Paprika Hummus Baguette Sandwich
Create a Delicious Bulgogi Baguette Sandwich with Paprika Hummus
This sandwich is made using bulgogi that was previously stored in the freezer. It’s a fantastic way to revive leftover ingredients into a gourmet meal.
Sandwich Ingredients- Baguette bread, 1/2 (approx. 6-8 inches)
- Bulgogi, 1 serving (pre-cooked)
- Sliced cheddar cheese, 1 slice
- Paprika hummus, 2 Tbsp
- Whole grain mustard, 1 Tbsp
- Fresh baby greens, 1 handful (e.g., lettuce, spring mix)
- Fresh dill, a little (for garnish, optional)
- Tomato, 1/2 (thinly sliced)
- Freshly ground black pepper, a pinch
- Whole red pepper flakes, a pinch (for added heat)
- Extra virgin olive oil, 1 tsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, take your pre-cooked bulgogi (1 serving) and place it in a pan over high heat. Stir-fry it quickly until cooked through. Be careful not to burn the seasoning. It’s important to cook it until the liquid has evaporated; this prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy.
Step 2
Prepare your baguette bread (1/2 piece). Slice the baguette horizontally in half to create the sandwich base and top. For an extra crispy texture, you can lightly toast the inside of the bread before assembling.
Step 3
Paprika hummus is a delightful spread made from mashed chickpeas, enhanced with the sweetness and rich flavor of paprika. This addition elevates the hummus beyond its simple base, infusing the sandwich with a unique aroma and a satisfying, robust texture that complements all the other ingredients beautifully.
Step 4
Spread the whole grain mustard evenly over the inside of the bottom half of the baguette. The zesty kick from the mustard will beautifully complement the savory bulgogi and creamy hummus.
Step 5
Generously layer the fresh baby greens over the mustard. Next, artfully arrange the thinly sliced tomato and sprinkle a little fresh dill over the greens and tomatoes for a burst of freshness and a hint of herbal aroma.
Step 6
Place the slice of cheddar cheese neatly on top of the vegetables and tomatoes. The cheese will act as a binder and will melt into a delicious, gooey layer.
Step 7
Pile the warm, cooked bulgogi generously over the cheese. The heat from the bulgogi will gently melt the cheese, creating a cohesive and incredibly flavorful filling.
Step 8
Finish by sprinkling freshly ground black pepper over the bulgogi. The pepper adds a subtle warmth and enhances all the other flavors in the sandwich.
Step 9
For a touch of heat, sprinkle a pinch of whole red pepper flakes. Finally, drizzle about 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil over everything. This adds a lovely moisture and richness, bringing all the flavors together for a truly satisfying sandwich. Enjoy your creation!
