Big Gimbap Ingredients

  • 2 bowls cooked rice, warm
  • 5 sheets of seaweed (gim)
  • 1 carrot
  • 150g imitation crab sticks
  • 3 chicken breast sausages
  • 3 eggs
  • 150g pickled radish wraps (or radish sprouts)
  • 9 fresh lettuce leaves
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of sesame seeds
  • Pinch of sesame oil
  • A little cooking oil

Silken Tofu Ramen Ingredients

  • 1 instant ramen packet
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet silken tofu (approx. 300g)
  • 1/2 stalk green onion

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

[Big Gimbap] Cook the rice with a piece of dried kelp (dashima) for a slightly firm texture. Once cooked, season lightly with salt. Gently fluff the rice with a spatula to prevent clumping when rolling.

Step 1

Step 2

Julienne the carrot. Lightly grease a pan with cooking oil, add the julienned carrots, and stir-fry with a pinch of salt until slightly tender but still crisp. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become mushy.

Step 2

Step 3

Whisk the 3 eggs with a pinch of salt and cook into thin omelets. Once cooled, slice them into thin strips for the gimbap.

Step 3

Step 4

Slice the chicken breast sausages into bite-sized pieces and lightly pan-fry them. Drain the pickled radish wraps thoroughly to remove excess moisture. Shred the imitation crab sticks into manageable pieces.

Step 4

Step 5

Wash and thoroughly dry the fresh lettuce leaves. Arrange all the prepared ingredients (rice, carrots, egg omelet strips, sausages, imitation crab sticks, pickled radish wraps) neatly next to your gimbap seaweed – your prep is complete!

Step 5

Step 6

Lay out 1.5 sheets of gimbap seaweed. Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a small margin at the top. Layer with lettuce, pickled radish wraps, chicken sausages, egg strips, carrots, and imitation crab sticks. Roll tightly from the bottom edge, ensuring it’s firm. You can dab a little cooked rice on the top edge to seal it.

Step 6

Step 7

Brush the outside of the rolled gimbap with sesame oil for a glossy finish. Slice into desired, easy-to-eat portions for your delicious Big Gimbap.

Step 7

Step 8

[Silken Tofu Ramen] Bring water to a boil in a pot. Once boiling, add the dried vegetable mix and soup base from the ramen packet. Then, add the ramen noodles.

Step 8

Step 9

When the noodles are almost cooked, gently add the packet of silken tofu and the egg. Scatter the sliced green onions on top. Once the broth comes back to a simmer, turn off the heat and enjoy your comforting ramen. Stir gently to break up the silken tofu.
