Hot Pot Ingredients- 3 servings of fresh beef (shabu-shabu style or for hot pot)
- 1 large onion
- 1 bag of crisp bean sprouts (approx. 200g)
- 1 pack of fresh bok choy
- 1 pack of enoki mushrooms
- 1L anchovy and kelp broth
- 3 green chilies
- 3 red chilies
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by thoroughly washing all your vegetables. Slice the onion thinly. Trim the base of the bok choy and separate the leaves. For the enoki mushrooms, trim the root end and separate the strands. Thinly slice the green and red chilies on an angle for a touch of color and mild heat. Arrange all these prepared ingredients attractively in your hot pot. A colorful arrangement makes it even more appealing!
Step 2
Next, artfully arrange the fresh beef slices on top of the prepared vegetables in the pot. Using thinly sliced beef for shabu-shabu or hot pot is ideal, as it cooks quickly and offers a tender texture. Layering the meat generously will make your hot pot look even more bountiful.
Step 3
Now, pour the 1L of anchovy broth into the hot pot. Bring it to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium-low heat to allow the ingredients to simmer gently and cook through. The anchovy broth will infuse the ingredients, creating a deeply flavorful hot pot. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface for a clearer broth. Enjoy the rich aroma as it begins to simmer!
Step 4
It’s time to savor a delicious spoonful of hot pot, enjoying the tender beef and vegetables with the warm, flavorful broth! You can place some of the cooked ingredients over a bowl of rice, or simply enjoy the broth on its own – it’s wonderfully comforting. This dish is the perfect way to warm up and nourish yourself, especially on a chilly day!
