About a month ago, I made club sandwiches, but everyone felt they weren’t quite enough. So, this time, I bought plenty of bread and made them extra generous! They turned out delicious, as expected. The combination of sauces really elevates the flavor. I tried using mentaiko mayonnaise instead of regular mayonnaise, and I found it tasted much better! A great advantage of club sandwiches is their versatility; you can easily customize them with various ingredients, much like Korean cuisine. Now, I find myself making these layered club sandwiches instead of plain toast or regular sandwiches. Mixing two kinds of sauces turned out to be a revelation for me – it was a whole new world of deliciousness! Perfect as a snack for kids, and substantial enough for a full meal, these club sandwiches will keep you full and satisfied! Have a wonderful Friday!

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 pack of sliced ham
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • Butter (for toasting)

Sauces

  • Strawberry jam
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mentaiko mayonnaise
  • Mustard sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all your ingredients and sauces for the club sandwich. You’ll need 12 slices of bread, 4 eggs, and 6 lettuce leaves, which should be washed and dried thoroughly. Also, have 1 pack of sliced ham and 4 slices of processed cheese ready. You’ll need a little butter for toasting the bread.

Step 2

Prepare the eggs to be soft-boiled. You can easily make them in the microwave. Place the eggs in a microwave-safe dish, add just enough water to cover them, and microwave for about 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your microwave’s power. This will result in perfectly jammy soft-boiled eggs. Be cautious when removing them.

Step 3

Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly and pat them dry. It’s important to remove excess water so your sandwich doesn’t become soggy. You can tear them into bite-sized pieces or leave them whole, depending on your preference.

Step 4

Now, let’s assemble the sandwich! Lightly toast one slice of bread in a toaster or a pan with a little butter. Spread a thin layer of strawberry jam on the toast. Next, place the mashed soft-boiled egg on top. Add a slice of cheese, then another slice of toast. Spread a generous amount of mayonnaise on this second slice of bread. Layer the prepared lettuce leaves, followed by the sliced ham. Drizzle with mustard sauce, and finally, top with the third slice of bread to complete your club sandwich.

Step 5

Before assembling, toasting the bread edges can add an extra crunch. Once the sandwich is built, use scissors to neatly trim away any excess lettuce or ham that sticks out from the sides, giving it a clean and professional look.

Step 6

Cut the completed club sandwich in half diagonally. Arrange the halves on a plate for a beautiful presentation. Enjoy your hearty and delicious club sandwich with a warm drink!
