Heartwarming Bibim Guksu with Beautiful Flower-Shaped Eggs
Master the art of perfectly boiled eggs for a stunning Bibim Guksu presentation
My personal philosophy is to always put my best effort into whatever I do! Today, I’m going to show you how to create a beautiful Bibim Guksu topped not with a simple heart-shaped egg, but with an elegant flower-shaped one. It’s a dish that’s both delicious and visually appealing – truly a case of getting two benefits for the price of one! I strongly believe this recipe will add a touch of joy and beauty to your meal.
For the Flower-Shaped Egg- 1 Egg
- Plastic wrap (food grade)
- 1 Bamboo skewer
- 2 Rubber bands
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare our star ingredient: the egg. Hard-boil the egg until it’s fully cooked. Place the egg in a pot, cover with water, and boil over medium heat for about 12-15 minutes. Once boiled, immediately transfer the egg to cold water. This helps make peeling easier. Peel the egg completely and set it aside.
Step 2
Now, it’s time to shape the egg. Place the peeled hard-boiled egg on a clean surface. Position the bamboo skewer straight along the thickest curve of the egg. Next, carefully wrap the entire egg with plastic wrap, ensuring it’s snug but doesn’t crush the egg. Pull the wrap taut and roll it firmly around the egg, similar to how you would roll a sushi mat.
Step 3
Once the egg is tightly wrapped, secure both ends of the plastic wrap with rubber bands, like you’re wrapping a rice ball. Let the shaped egg rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the shape to set completely. After 30 minutes, carefully remove the rubber bands and unwrap the plastic. You’ll see the round egg beautifully split along the bamboo skewer, resembling a flower. Slice the shaped egg into your desired serving size.
Step 4
Instead of just topping your Bibim Guksu with a halved egg, using these beautifully crafted flower-shaped eggs adds a special touch to your meal. It enhances the joy of cooking and eating, making the experience even more delightful. A meal prepared with care is always a joy to savor.
