Healthy and Delicious Tofu Tiramisu
A Special Christmas Party Dessert: Creamy Tofu Tiramisu
Introducing a special tiramisu recipe using silken tofu, reducing the richness of traditional tiramisu while adding health benefits. Instead of heavy cream cheese, we use smooth silken tofu and plain yogurt, making it enjoyable for everyone without feeling heavy. All Ingredients
- 10g Instant coffee (for a rich aroma)
- 50ml Syrup (to balance the coffee’s bitterness and add sweetness)
- 1 pack Silken Tofu (about 300g, drained)
- 4 Tbsp Cream cheese (softened at room temperature)
- 3 Tbsp Plain yogurt (for a thick texture)
- 1 pack Pound cake (about 200g, to replace the ladyfingers)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully drain the silken tofu. You can place it in a sieve to drain or gently press it with paper towels. This is a crucial step for creating a smooth tiramisu cream.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the drained silken tofu, softened cream cheese, and plain yogurt. Use a whisk or spatula to mix until smooth and free of lumps. Continue mixing until the silken tofu is well incorporated with the cream cheese and yogurt, forming a consistency similar to a smooth cream cheese filling. We’ll call this mixture the ‘Tofu Cream’.
Step 3
Cut the pound cake into pieces about 1-1.5 cm thick, suitable for individual servings. Cutting them too thin might cause them to break easily, so maintaining a good thickness is recommended. Since we’re using this instead of ladyfingers, cut pieces that fit the bottom and sides of your cups or serving dishes.
Step 4
In a small bowl, dissolve 10g of instant coffee in a small amount of hot water to create a strong coffee mixture. Then, add 50ml of syrup and stir well to create the ‘Coffee Syrup’. If the coffee is too weak, the flavor won’t be pronounced, and you can adjust the syrup amount to your preference for sweetness.
Step 5
Now it’s time to assemble your tiramisu in cups or elegant dessert glasses. Start by placing the prepared pound cake pieces at the bottom. Next, generously spread the Tofu Cream over the cake layer. Finally, lightly drizzle the Coffee Syrup over the cake. Repeat this layering process – cake, Tofu Cream, Coffee Syrup – until the cups are filled. For an extra touch, dust with cocoa powder on top for a more sophisticated Tofu Tiramisu. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving for the best taste.
