Delicious Tofu Ham and Cheese Bake: Whole Tofu Grilled to Perfection with Ham and Cheese, Made Conveniently in an Air Fryer
This recipe features a delicious Tofu, Ham, and Cheese Bake made by grilling a whole block of HACCP-certified tofu in the air fryer. The savory ham and rich cheese create a satisfying and nutritious meal or special snack that the whole family can enjoy. It’s so simple, anyone can easily follow along.
Main Ingredients- 1 block Tofu (firm type, suitable for pan-frying or stew)
- 115g Sliced Ham
- 1 slice Processed Cheese
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients needed for the recipe. Using HACCP-certified fresh tofu ensures peace of mind during preparation.
Step 2
Gently rinse the tofu under running water and pat it dry. To ensure the tofu doesn’t fall apart while cutting, place wooden chopsticks parallel on both sides of the tofu block. Then, carefully make square grid-like cuts into the tofu with a knife. This technique helps the seasoning penetrate deeper and prevents the tofu from breaking apart too much during cooking.
Step 3
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and place the prepared tofu on top. Brush the surface of the tofu evenly with olive oil, then sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper to season. The olive oil will help the tofu achieve a crispier and more delicious texture.
Step 4
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and then place the prepared tofu inside. Bake for 20 minutes until it’s golden brown. You want the exterior of the tofu to become slightly firm and develop an appetizing color.
Step 5
While the tofu is baking, prepare the ham. First, pour hot water over the ham to remove any food additives or excess grease from the surface. Drain the ham on a sieve, then place it in a bowl and pour hot water over it again to eliminate any gamey smell. This step will enhance the ham’s clean flavor.
Step 6
Cut the blanched ham into bite-sized pieces. Slice about half of the ham thinly into square shapes. Also, cut the processed cheese into similar square pieces, matching the size of the ham slices. This will make them easy to insert between the tofu layers.

Check the state of the tofu after it has been baked in the air fryer for 20 minutes. The exterior should be nicely browned.
Step 8
Carefully remove the baked tofu and insert the prepared ham and cheese slices alternately into the cuts you made earlier. Layer them like a sandwich: ham, cheese, ham.
Step 9
Return the tofu stuffed with ham and cheese to the air fryer. This time, increase the temperature to 200°C (400°F) and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the ham is nicely browned and the cheese is melted. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning, adjusting the time as needed.
Step 10
Transfer the finished Tofu, Ham, and Cheese Bake to a serving plate. Sprinkle with dried parsley for a more appealing presentation.
