Main Ingredients
  • Beef sirloin 300g
  • Onion 1/2
  • Green bell pepper 1/2
  • Canned corn 1 Tbsp
  • Garlic 2 cloves

Chopped Steak Sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Ketchup 3 Tbsp
  • Sugar 2 Tbsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Parsley flakes to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the vegetables. Dice the onion and green bell pepper into roughly 3cm x 3cm pieces. Cutting them a bit larger prevents them from becoming mushy when cooked, maintaining a pleasant texture.

Step 2

Drain the canned corn thoroughly in a sieve. Any remaining liquid can cause oil to splatter when cooking. Slice the garlic thinly, about 0.5cm thick, into rounds.

Step 3

Cut the beef sirloin into approximately 4cm x 4cm cubes. Cubing them too small can lead to moisture loss and a dry texture. Lightly season the beef cubes with salt and black pepper. Over-seasoning can clash with the sauce, so a gentle touch is best.

Step 4

Now, let’s make the sauce. In a small pot or pan, combine 1/2 cup of water, 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 3 Tbsp ketchup, 2 Tbsp sugar, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Whisk everything together. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low and cook until it thickens slightly. You can adjust the sugar amount to your preference.

Step 5

It’s time to stir-fry! Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden. Add the diced onion and cook until it becomes translucent. Once the onions are softened, increase the heat to high, add the beef sirloin cubes, corn, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry quickly to sear the beef and cook the vegetables.

Step 6

Once the ingredients are mostly cooked, pour the prepared chopped steak sauce into the pan. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook, stirring gently, until the sauce has reduced and coated the ingredients, almost disappearing. Be careful not to let the sauce burn or stick to the pan.

Step 7

Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of parsley flakes over the finished chopped steak for a beautiful presentation! Serve immediately while warm and enjoy this delicious dish.
