Delicious Stir-fried Potato Strips Made with Seasonal Potatoes
I received a box full of seasonal potatoes, and this June, I plan to introduce a series of potato dishes, starting with stir-fried potato strips. This recipe is simple yet incredibly delicious, making it a perfect side dish for any meal!
Main Ingredients- 3 medium potatoes
- 2 medium onions
- A small amount of green onion (white parts mainly)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Step 1
Today, I’m introducing ‘Stir-fried Potato Strips’. It’s simple but tastes fantastic, so please look forward to it!
Step 2
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and then slice them into thin strips. Slice the onions into similar thickness strips as the potatoes. Pre-slicing the ingredients will help shorten the cooking time.
Step 3
Rinse the sliced potatoes under running water for about 1 minute to remove excess starch. This step prevents the potato strips from sticking together and ensures a crispier texture. Drain the rinsed potatoes well in a colander.
Step 4
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the drained potato strips and stir-fry until they become translucent. Cooking the potatoes until they turn transparent is key for a delicious result.
Step 5
Once the potatoes start turning translucent, add the chopped green onions and sliced onions to the pan. Continue to stir-fry until the onions become translucent and well combined with the potatoes. It’s best to maintain medium heat during this stage.
Step 6
Add a pinch of salt to season. You can also add a dash of black pepper if you like. Finally, sprinkle generously with sesame seeds for a nutty aroma to finish.
