You can substitute it with cheddar cheese, gouda, or any other cheese you love, or even create a blend of different cheeses for a more complex taste experience.

Now, place the prepared mozzarella cheese onto a dry frying pan. When arranging the cheese, think of creating a circular pattern, spreading it out evenly. This will help it form a beautiful, well-shaped crisp. Once the cheese is in the pan, gently press it down with your palm to ensure it’s flat and even, which aids in creating a uniform crisp.

Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook over very low heat for about 2 minutes. During this time, the cheese will begin to melt halfway through. Cheese can burn quickly, so controlling the heat is crucial today. Make sure to maintain the lowest heat setting throughout the cooking process.

Once the cheese has melted to a certain extent, it’s time to remove the lid and continue cooking. Let it cook for an additional 2 minutes in this uncovered state. This allows some of the moisture to evaporate, enhancing the crispiness.

You’ll notice the edges of the cheese starting to turn a light golden brown, tinged with orange. Observing this subtle color change around the edges is key to achieving the perfect crisp.
