  • A little chopped green onion (For a fragrant garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s get started! This is the preparation stage for all your ingredients. Peel the whole garlic and slice it thinly into slivers. Slicing them thinly is crucial as garlic can burn easily. Wash and finely chop the green onions, setting them aside. Gently pat the salmon dry with paper towels for a better sear.

Step 2

Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the prepared salmon in the pan and sear until the surface is golden brown and cooked through. Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the salmon, but be careful not to overcook the inside to maintain a moist texture.

Step 3

Transfer the beautifully seared salmon to a plate. This step ensures the salmon doesn’t overcook while you prepare the sauce in the next step, keeping it warm and tender.

Step 4

Now, let’s make the magical sauce! You can use the same pan used for the salmon, or a clean one. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the piece of butter. Once the butter is melted, add the sliced garlic and sauté gently, stirring constantly, until fragrant and lightly golden. Sautéing until the garlic is golden brown will enhance the flavor.

Step 5

Once the garlic is fragrant, pour in 1 Tbsp of soy sauce and 2 Tbsp of maple syrup. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens and coats the garlic with a glossy sheen. Be mindful as it can burn quickly, so keep stirring. The sauce is ready when the garlic turns a deep brown color.

Step 6

Finally, it’s time to plate your stunning salmon rice bowl! 1. Start by placing warm cooked rice at the bottom of your serving bowl. 2. Arrange the cooked salmon pieces attractively over the rice. 3. Drizzle the prepared garlic sauce lightly over the salmon and rice. 4. Finish with a sprinkle of finely chopped green onions for a vibrant garnish. Your exquisite salmon rice bowl is now complete!
