Ingredients- 22 Vienna sausages
- 10 cloves garlic
- 1 stalk green onion
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 1/2 Tbsp hot sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the garlic. If the cloves are not too large, cut each one in half to make about 20 pieces. This helps the sauce penetrate better and makes them easier to eat.
Step 2
Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Finely chop the white part of the green onion and add it to the pan. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. This infuses the oil with a pleasant aroma.
Step 3
Add the prepared garlic pieces to the pan. Stir-fry over medium-low heat until the garlic turns translucent, being careful not to burn it. Lightly browning the garlic will enhance its flavor.
Step 4
Now, add the 22 Vienna sausages. It’s best to score the sausages beforehand with shallow cuts (like a cross or diagonal lines). This allows the sauce to seep in nicely and makes them look more appealing as they cook and plump up.
Step 5
Once the sausages have started to plump up and their cuts have opened, pour in the sauce mixture: 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 1/2 tablespoon of hot sauce, and 1/2 tablespoon of oligosaccharide. Increase the heat to medium-high and stir-fry quickly to coat the sausages and garlic evenly with the sauce. Continue stir-frying until the sauce thickens slightly and coats everything with a glossy sheen.
Step 6
Finally, add the chopped green parts of the green onion. Stir-fry for another 30 seconds to a minute until they are just wilted. The green onion adds a nice pop of color, a fresh aroma, and a bit of crunch, completing the dish.
