Ingredients

  • 150g Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 400g Tteokbokki rice cakes
  • 10 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 stalk Green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
  • Basil powder (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 pinches Salt
  • Pinch of Black pepper
  • 70ml Olive oil
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of spice)

Cooking Instructions

First, thinly slice the garlic cloves. Slice the green onion into bite-sized pieces.

For enhanced nutty flavor, lightly grind the toasted sesame seeds using a mortar and pestle or a grinder.

Heat the olive oil in a wide pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns a beautiful golden brown and becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as this will affect the flavor. Let the garlic’s aroma infuse into the oil.
