Main Ingredients
  • 140g Beef Ribeye Flap
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/2 Potato
  • 2/3 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 King Oyster Mushroom

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all the ingredients for your bibimbap. Using up those leftover vegetables from your fridge will make it even more economical and delicious.

Step 2

Gently pat the thawed beef dry with paper towels to remove any excess blood. Thoroughly draining the blood is key to preventing any gamey odor and achieving a clean flavor.

Step 3

Finely dice the potato and onion. Since this isn’t a dish that requires long simmering like curry or stew, dicing them finely will ensure they cook through nicely.

Step 4

Finely dice the red bell pepper, similar to the potato and onion. For a vibrant color, using carrots would also be a great addition.

Step 5

Clean the king oyster mushroom, then halve it lengthwise and slice it into half-moon shapes. King oyster mushrooms become wonderfully chewy when cooked, adding a great texture to the bibimbap.

Step 6

Heat about 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, releasing its aroma.

Step 7

Once the onion is translucent, add the prepared beef and stir-fry until it’s no longer pink.

Step 8

As the beef cooks, sprinkle in a pinch of black pepper and add 1/2 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir well to coat the beef evenly and continue to stir-fry.

Step 9

When the beef is almost cooked through, add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry quickly for a minute to impart a smoky flavor.

Step 10

In a separate pan, add a little cooking oil and sauté the diced potato. Season with a pinch of salt and cook until lightly browned and tender. The potato will add a lovely savory note as it cooks.

Step 11

In the same manner, stir-fry the bell pepper and king oyster mushroom separately. It’s important to maintain the fresh flavor and texture of the vegetables.

Step 12

Place a serving of warm, cooked rice into a bowl. Arrange the stir-fried beef and the colorful vegetables attractively on top of the rice.

Step 13

Simply mixing these stir-fried ingredients with rice is incredibly delicious! It makes a fantastic simple meal on its own. (*^^*)

Step 14

Finally, drizzle about 2 tablespoons of perilla oil over the bowl and mix everything together with chopsticks or a spoon. With just a side of well-fermented kimchi, you’ll have a complete and satisfying meal. It’s truly that easy! ㅎㅎ
