Fresh Lettuce and Tofu Wraps: A Healthy and Delicious Diet Recipe
Super Easy Lettuce Wraps with Tofu – A Light Yet Satisfying Diet Meal!
My home garden’s lettuce is growing wonderfully lately! It’s so tender and soft, perfect for topping with rice for bibimbap or wrapping around delicious grilled meat. This time, I decided to get creative and make ‘Lettuce and Tofu Wraps’ using soft tofu instead of rice. They are moist and bursting with fresh flavors, providing a satisfying meal packed with protein. Adding fresh vegetables and smoked chicken breast, then a drizzle of spicy Sriracha sauce, creates a perfectly balanced, addictive flavor profile that’s incredibly nutritious and delicious. I highly recommend this versatile tofu dish!
Main Ingredients- 15 fresh lettuce leaves
- 1 block soft tofu
- 200g smoked chicken breast
- A bit of colorful bell pepper
- A little blanched spinach
- 2 pinches of salt
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of black pepper (to taste)
- Sriracha sauce (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently blanch the tofu in boiling water for about 3 minutes. This step helps remove any unwanted odors and makes the tofu texture even softer and more pleasant.
Step 2
Wash the fresh lettuce leaves thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities. Shake off excess water and set aside.
Step 3
Finely chop the blanched spinach, colorful bell peppers, and smoked chicken breast. If your smoked chicken breast was frozen, microwave it for about 2 minutes before chopping to make it easier to cut.
Step 4
Gently press the blanched tofu using a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth to squeeze out as much water as possible. It’s important to remove excess moisture so the mixture binds well, similar to making rice balls.
Step 5
In a bowl, combine the drained tofu with the chopped vegetables and smoked chicken breast. Add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, 2 pinches of salt, and a sprinkle of black pepper. Adjust seasoning to your preference. If you plan to serve with Sriracha sauce, you can season lightly as the sauce will add flavor.
Step 6
Gently mix all the ingredients together with your hands until well combined. Ensure everything is evenly distributed without making the mixture too mushy.
Step 7
Wearing disposable gloves for hygiene, shape the tofu mixture into bite-sized balls. You can make them round like mini rice balls – they look cute and are easy to eat.
Step 8
Place a tofu ball onto each fresh lettuce leaf. Arrange them neatly on a plate to serve your delicious Lettuce and Tofu Wraps! Enjoy with a side of Sriracha sauce for an extra kick.
