Cooking Instructions

Step 1

We’re going to make some delicious Vietnamese spring rolls that are perfect for a housewarming party or when you have guests over. They look as good as they taste and are sure to impress everyone.

Step 1

Step 2

First, let’s prepare the addictive soy-mustard dipping sauce. In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. This forms the flavorful base of our sauce.

Step 2

Step 3

Next, add 2 tablespoons of water, 1/2 teaspoon of mustard sauce, 1 teaspoon of vinegar for a touch of tanginess, and 1 teaspoon of sugar to balance the flavors. Whisk everything together until well combined. This combination will create an irresistible, savory-sweet sauce.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, it’s time to prepare the fillings for your spring rolls. Keep the 6 rice paper wrappers aside. Wash the 1/2 green bell pepper and 1 cucumber, remove their seeds, and then julienne them along with the 1/3 block of ham into thin, long strips. Cutting the vegetables into similar sizes will make your spring rolls look neat and be easier to eat.

Step 4

Step 5

Prepare a shallow bowl of warm water. Dip one sheet of rice paper into the warm water for about 5-10 seconds until it becomes soft and pliable. Be careful not to soak it for too long, as it might tear. Place your desired amount of prepared vegetables and ham onto the softened wrapper and then carefully roll it up tightly. It might feel a bit tricky at first, but you’ll get the hang of it quickly!

Step 5

Step 6

Once your spring rolls are beautifully wrapped, dip them into the homemade soy-mustard sauce and enjoy the incredible burst of flavors! The combination of fresh, crisp vegetables and the savory-sweet sauce is simply divine. Feel free to add other ingredients like shrimp or chicken breast for extra flavor and texture.
