The “Slightly Sorry to My Arteries” French Fry Cheeseburger
Packed with a generous amount of crispy french fries between soft buns, topped with a luscious cheddar cheese sauce! Sorry, arteries! But it’s going to be delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 Bun (burger bun or round bread)
- 2 handfuls Frozen french fries (approx. 100-150g)
- 1 strip Bacon (approx. 50g)
- 2 slices Processed ham
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
- 3 fresh Lettuce leaves
- 1/2 cup Milk (approx. 100ml)
- 1 Tbsp Butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the bun. Slice it in half horizontally. Spread a thin layer of butter on the cut sides. Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and place the buttered bun halves inside. Toast for about 5 minutes until golden brown and slightly crispy. This step adds a wonderful toasty flavor and texture.
Step 2
Next, cook the ham and bacon. If using whole bacon, slice it thinly. Place the ham slices and bacon strips in the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 180°C (350°F) and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the edges are lightly crisped. This renders some of the fat and enhances the smoky flavor.
Step 3
Now for the star of the show: the french fries! Spread the frozen french fries in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 200°C (400°F) and cook for approximately 15 minutes. For even crispiness, give them a shake or flip halfway through the cooking time.
Step 4
While the fries are getting perfectly crispy, let’s make the cheddar cheese sauce. In a microwave-safe bowl, tear the cheddar cheese slices into smaller pieces and add the milk. Microwave for 30 seconds, then carefully remove and stir well.
Step 5
Return the bowl to the microwave and heat for another 30 seconds. Repeat this process until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. Stir vigorously with a spoon or whisk to ensure a lump-free, velvety cheese sauce. You can adjust the consistency by adding a little more milk if it’s too thick.
Step 6
Time to assemble your masterpiece! Place the toasted bottom bun on your serving plate. Layer it with fresh lettuce leaves for a crisp contrast. Then, arrange the cooked ham slices neatly on top of the lettuce. Now, pile on a generous amount of those perfectly fried french fries – don’t be shy!
Step 7
Finally, generously drizzle the warm, creamy cheddar cheese sauce all over the french fries. The rich, tangy cheese sauce cascading over the hot fries is pure bliss! Crown your burger with the crispy bacon strips. Your decadent French Fry Cheeseburger is now ready to be devoured. Enjoy this glorious creation!
