Essential Ingredients

  • 1 medium zucchini
  • Approx. 1/4 carrot
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 0.5 Tbsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the zucchini thoroughly and trim off the ends. Then, slice it into 5cm lengths. Next, julienne it into thin strips about 3-5mm thick. Slicing them to a consistent thickness ensures they cook evenly and taste delicious.

Step 1

Step 2

Julienne the carrot into thin strips, similar in thickness and length to the zucchini. Carrots add color and improve the texture. Place the julienned zucchini and carrots together in a bowl.

Step 2

Step 3

Lightly oil a heated pan and add the julienned zucchini and carrots. Sauté over medium heat. Once the zucchini begins to look slightly translucent and softens, add 1 Tbsp minced garlic and 0.5 Tbsp salt. Stir-fry for a moment longer until the garlic is fragrant.

Step 3

Step 4

Check if the ingredients are cooked through and the seasoning is to your liking. If it tastes bland, add a little more salt, bit by bit. Drizzle in 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil and stir-fry over high heat for another quick moment until everything is well combined. Be careful not to overcook, as the zucchini can become mushy.

Step 4

Step 5

Turn off the heat and plate the finished sautéed zucchini attractively. If desired, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for an extra nutty aroma. Your simple and delicious sautéed zucchini is ready! It’s incredibly tasty served with a bowl of warm rice.
