Ingredients

  • 200g Pancake Mix (store-bought, your favorite brand)
  • 1 Fresh Egg
  • 150ml Milk (adjust for batter consistency)
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • Assorted Nuts (walnuts, almonds, etc., to taste)
  • Sweet Maple Syrup or Honey
  • Powdered Sugar (for dusting)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Conveniently use a store-bought pancake mix, as there are many excellent options available nowadays. Even if you’re new to baking, you can easily make delicious pancakes. Choose a brand you like.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare the batter according to the instructions on the pancake mix packaging. Combine 200g of mix with 1 egg and 150ml of milk. Whisk until smooth, ensuring there are no lumps. Proper mixing is key for a smooth batter.

Step 2

Step 3

Check the batter’s consistency. If it seems too thick, gradually add a little more milk and stir until it reaches a smooth, pourable consistency without lumps. A well-balanced batter will help create beautifully shaped pancakes.

Step 3

Step 4

Preheat your pan over medium heat. Lightly butter the pan by dipping a paper towel in melted butter and wiping a thin layer across the surface. This prevents sticking and adds a subtle richness to the pancakes.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the pan is hot, ladle your pancake batter onto the surface to form round shapes. Avoid overcrowding the pan; pour a moderate amount of batter for each pancake to maintain its form.

Step 5

Step 6

As the batter begins to spread and set around the edges, reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until bubbles start to appear on the surface and the underside is golden. Just as the top starts to cook through, arrange thin banana slices on top. Placing them too early might cause them to sink into the batter!

Step 6

Step 7

When the bottom is golden brown and cooked through, carefully flip the pancake using a spatula. Cook the other side until golden and cooked through. You’ll know they’re ready when a wonderful aroma fills the kitchen.

Step 7

Step 8

To make it a special brunch, stack three pancakes high like a cake! Top the stack with fresh banana slices, a generous sprinkle of crunchy nuts, and a dusting of powdered sugar. For extra sweetness, drizzle with your favorite syrup or honey. Enjoy your delicious homemade brunch!
