Flavorful & Easy Butter Garlic Shrimp
How to Make Simple Butter Garlic Shrimp – The Perfect Wine Appetizer
Today, I’m sharing a super simple yet incredibly delicious wine appetizer made with shrimp from the freezer. It’s so easy, anyone can make it. The aromatic garlic butter sauce combined with perfectly cooked shrimp creates a dish that’s both elegant and comforting. Give it a try!
Main Ingredients
- 10 Shrimp, thawed
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- 5 cloves Garlic, whole
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, fully thaw the shrimp by soaking them in cold water. Wearing rubber gloves can help prevent slipping while washing. Rinse the shrimp thoroughly under running water.
Step 2
Shrimp preparation is optional, but if you prefer a cleaner bite, remove the shells from the body, leaving the head and tail intact. (Optional: You can also remove the tail shells for easier eating.)
Step 3
Place the prepared shrimp in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of pepper. Gently toss to coat the shrimp and let it marinate for a few minutes.
Step 4
Now, let’s make the delicious garlic butter sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Mix well.
Step 5
For an even smoother sauce and enhanced flavor, microwave this mixture for about 20-30 seconds until the butter is softened and easily incorporated. Be careful not to overheat.
Step 6
Thinly slice the 5 whole garlic cloves. Heat a pan over medium-low heat with the olive oil. Add the sliced garlic and the prepared garlic butter sauce. Sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Cooking over a gentle heat is key here.
Step 7
Once the garlic becomes aromatic, add the marinated shrimp to the pan and cook them along with the sauce. It’s best to cook over medium-low heat rather than high heat.
Step 8
Continuously stir and toss the shrimp and sauce to ensure they are evenly coated. As the sauce reduces, it will glaze the shrimp beautifully and release a wonderful aroma. Keep tossing, much like you would coat chicken pieces, until the sauce clings to the shrimp.
Step 9
If you prefer a crispier texture, you can transfer the cooked shrimp to an air fryer and cook at 350°F (180°C) for about 10 minutes. (Optional: This step can be skipped if you like a softer texture.)
Step 10
Once everything is cooked to perfection, arrange the butter garlic shrimp attractively on a plate. Your delicious appetizer is ready!
Step 11
Pair this dish with a crisp white wine or a cold beer. The combination of fragrant garlic butter and succulent shrimp is fantastic and will surely lift your spirits. Enjoy this delightful dish!
