Main Ingredients
  • Turmeric Curry Block 1 (approx. 100g)
  • 1 Potato (medium size)
  • 1 Onion (medium size)
  • 90g Carrot (about 1/3)
  • 1 Tbsp Butter

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash all the vegetables thoroughly. Peel the potatoes, onion, and carrot, then chop them into bite-sized pieces (about 1.5cm to 2cm cubes). Place the chopped vegetables into a pot.

Step 2

If you are using ham, slice it into pieces similar in size to the vegetables. Briefly rinse the ham under lukewarm water before slicing to remove excess grease and ensure a cleaner taste. Add the sliced ham to the pot as well.

Step 3

Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pot. Cook over medium-low heat until the butter melts, then sauté the vegetables and ham together. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables become slightly translucent and absorb the buttery flavor. This step enhances the natural sweetness of the vegetables.

Step 4

Once the vegetables are lightly sautéed, pour in 700ml of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes and carrots are tender. You can check for doneness by piercing them with a fork; they should go in easily.

Step 5

When the potatoes and carrots are cooked through, reduce the heat to low and add the curry block. Stir well to dissolve the curry block completely, ensuring there are no lumps. You can also dissolve it in a little water beforehand if you prefer.

Step 6

With the curry dissolved, continue to stir constantly to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. Simmer over medium-low heat, stirring, until the curry reaches your desired thickness. Once it thickens and becomes glossy, your delicious curry rice bowl is ready! Serve generously over warm rice and enjoy!
