Main Ingredients
- Beef Brisket 120g
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 handful Garlic cloves
- 3 Perilla leaves
- Spaghetti for 2 servings (approx. 200g)
- Olive oil, as needed
Sauce Ingredients
- 1.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Wine (Mirin, etc.)
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Wine (Mirin, etc.)
- Pinch of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Boil plenty of water with a little salt. Cook the spaghetti for about 10 minutes, or 1-2 minutes less than the package instructions suggest, until al dente. Once cooked, drain the pasta without rinsing it. To prevent it from sticking, toss it with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. This step is key to keeping the pasta chewy!
Step 2
Thinly slice the garlic cloves into manageable pieces. Peel and thinly slice half an onion. Wash the 3 perilla leaves, pat them dry, and then cut them into thin shreds for a fragrant garnish.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 2 tablespoons of cooking wine. Mix well to create the delicious sauce. This sauce will add a wonderful umami flavor to your pasta.
Step 4
Heat a pan with a generous amount of olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and slowly sauté until fragrant and lightly golden. Once the garlic starts to turn golden, add the sliced onions and continue to sauté until the onions become translucent and sweet.
Step 5
Temporarily move the sautéed garlic and onions to one side of the pan or to a separate dish. Add the beef brisket to the cleared space in the pan and stir-fry quickly over high heat. Beef brisket releases quite a bit of fat, so gently dab away excess oil with a paper towel for a cleaner taste.
Step 6
Once the beef brisket is fully cooked, return the sautéed garlic and onions to the pan and mix them thoroughly with the brisket.
Step 7
Add the spaghetti, which was pre-coated with olive oil, to the pan. Stir-fry with the brisket, garlic, and onions over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes, allowing the pasta to absorb the flavors of the ingredients.
Step 8
Pour the prepared sauce into the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the pasta and ingredients are evenly coated with the sauce. Ensure the sauce coats the noodles well.
Step 9
Finally, sprinkle a pinch of black pepper for added aroma. Turn off the heat once the sauce has slightly reduced and the pasta looks glossy. Be careful not to overcook, as the pasta can become mushy or too salty.
Step 10
Transfer the finished beef brisket pasta to a serving plate. Generously top with the shredded perilla leaves you prepared earlier. And just like that, your elegant and delicious beef brisket pasta is ready! Enjoy this special, homemade meal.
