Make a Side Dish with Cabbage: The ‘Mugen’ Salad (Japanese Endless Series)
This salad is named ‘Endless Salad’ because it’s so delicious you can eat it endlessly! Watch from 00:10 onwards for the simple preparation.
Ingredients- 200g cabbage
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp canned tuna (drained)
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the 200g of cabbage thoroughly. Then, finely shred it into thin, even strips. The thinner you slice it, the softer and more pleasant the texture will be.
Step 2
Heat a pan without any oil over medium-low heat. Add the shredded cabbage and lightly stir-fry it. The key is to cook it just until the cabbage slightly wilts. This process enhances the cabbage’s natural sweetness and creates a tender texture.
Step 3
Transfer the stir-fried cabbage to a large bowl and let it cool down. It’s important to let it cool completely before adding the dressing, as adding seasonings to hot cabbage might cause the mayonnaise to separate.
Step 4
Once the cabbage has cooled sufficiently, add the drained canned tuna, mayonnaise, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together gently until all the ingredients are evenly coated onto the cabbage. Your delicious ‘Endless Cabbage Salad’ is now ready to enjoy!
