Main Ingredients

  • 2 bell peppers (use various colors for a more attractive look)
  • 1 onion (medium size)
  • A handful of cherry tomatoes (for color and a touch of acidity)
  • A handful of broccoli florets (adds texture and nutrition)
  • 1 Mokwoochan Chef-Level Vienna sausage (or your preferred sausage)
  • 2-3 kale leaves (or spinach, or other leafy greens)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 500ml milk (fresh and whole milk recommended)
  • 3 Mokwoochan eggs (fresh eggs)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Finely chop all the prepared ingredients – bell peppers, onion, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, kale, and the Mokwoochan Vienna sausage – into bite-sized pieces. Smaller pieces will blend better with the egg mixture and cook more evenly. Halve or quarter the cherry tomatoes, and separate the broccoli into small florets. Remove the tough stems from the kale and chop it finely for a better texture.

Step 1

Step 2

In a bowl, crack 3 fresh Mokwoochan eggs. Season lightly with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. Gently whisk the eggs until the yolks and whites are just combined. Avoid over-whisking, as this can make the frittata tough once cooked.

Step 2

Step 3

Pour 500ml of fresh milk into the whisked eggs. Milk is key to achieving a wonderfully soft and moist frittata. Whisk the egg and milk mixture until smooth and well combined. Be careful not to over-mix, which can create too many bubbles and affect the final appearance.

Step 3

Step 4

Add all the chopped vegetables and sliced Mokwoochan Vienna sausage to the egg and milk mixture. Gently fold everything together with a spatula or spoon until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the batter. The vibrant colors of the vegetables will make the frittata look appetizing.

Step 4

Step 5

Lightly grease an oven-safe pan or a thick-bottomed skillet with oil, then wipe it with a paper towel to create a thin, non-stick coating. This step prevents the frittata from sticking to the pan. Pour the prepared egg batter into the pan, filling it about two-thirds full so it doesn’t overflow when cooking. The batter should have a slightly fluid consistency.

Step 5

Step 6

Make four lengthwise slits on the Mokwoochan Chef-Level Vienna sausage. This decorative cut will make the sausage petals open up beautifully like a flower when cooked. Carefully place the scored sausages into the egg batter at regular intervals, standing them upright. Ensuring the sausages are slightly exposed on the surface will help them maintain their shape.

Step 6

Step 7

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15-20 minutes, or until the frittata is set and the top is lightly golden. Cooking time may vary depending on your oven. For those without an oven, you can cook it over low heat with a lid, or briefly sear the bottom on the stovetop before transferring to the oven. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the frittata is ready.

Step 7

Step 8

Carefully remove the golden-brown frittata from the oven. Marvel at the beautiful, flower-like appearance of the opened Vienna sausages! Enjoy your delicious Mokwoochan Sausage Frittata immediately while it’s warm. The combination of soft eggs, crisp vegetables, and chewy sausage is truly delightful. Serve with bread or a side salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
