Easy & Tender Pork Belly Boiled in a CUCKOO Pressure Cooker
Super Simple CUCKOO Pressure Cooker Pork Belly Recipe! Easier than Boiling Ramen. Tender and Juicy!
I used to think making delicious pork belly (Bossam meat) was complicated. With CUCKOO, it’s easy to render out the fat and enjoy a healthy, incredibly tasty dish! It’s so delicious.
Main Ingredients- Pork belly or shoulder for boiling, 1.5kg (whole piece recommended)
- Onion, 1 large (cut into large chunks)
- Bay leaves, 3-4 leaves
Seasoning & Aromatics- Ginger powder, 1 Tbsp (or 1 Tbsp minced fresh ginger)
- Whole peppercorns or coarsely ground pepper, 1/2 tsp (a few good shakes)
- Ginger powder, 1 Tbsp (or 1 Tbsp minced fresh ginger)
- Whole peppercorns or coarsely ground pepper, 1/2 tsp (a few good shakes)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your pork block for boiling, purchased from a store like Costco. Using a whole piece of pork belly or shoulder will result in a more tender and flavorful boiled pork.
Step 2
Cut the pork into large pieces. Cutting them too small might cause them to break apart during cooking, so aim for slightly larger than bite-sized pieces. (Tip: If the pork piece is very large, consider cutting it into 2-3 sections.)
Step 3
Peel the onion and cut it into large wedges, about 4 or 6 pieces. The onion helps to remove any porky smell and adds a wonderful aroma to the dish.
Step 4
Place the large chunks of pork, onion wedges, and bay leaves into the inner pot of your CUCKOO pressure cooker. Sprinkle the ginger powder and pepper over the top for seasoning. (Tip: For extra odor-fighting power, you can add 1 Tbsp of soybean paste or a pinch of coffee grounds.)
Step 5
Now, select the ‘Multi-Steam’ or ‘Cook’ function on your pressure cooker and set the cooking time to 55 minutes. You don’t need to add any water; the pork will cook in its own juices and the moisture released from the vegetables.
