Easy Rice Cooker Aronia Rice Cake
Super Simple Aronia Rice Cake Made with Just a Rice Cooker
I tried to make the most of aronia powder by creating this recipe. It’s a simple yet delicious way to enjoy the benefits of aronia.
Cake Ingredients
- Aronia Powder: 50g
- Rice Flour: 300g (wet rice flour recommended)
- Water: 150ml (adjust based on rice flour consistency)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, combine the aronia powder and rice flour in a large bowl and mix them thoroughly. Sifting the mixture can result in a smoother texture. Gradually add water while mixing and kneading the dough with your hands, similar to making boiled dough, until it comes together. Adjust the water amount as needed, depending on the consistency of your rice flour; it should be crumbly but able to hold its shape when squeezed.
Step 2
Place the prepared rice cake dough evenly into the inner pot of your rice cooker. Select the ‘Steam’ or ‘Multi-Cook’ function on your rice cooker and steam for approximately 30 minutes. Ensure there is enough water in the steam compartment and that the rice cooker lid is sealed tightly to prevent steam from escaping.
Step 3
After 30 minutes of steaming, carefully remove the inner pot from the rice cooker. Invert the cake dough onto a plate or serving dish. You can gently shake the pot or place a damp cloth over the dough before inverting to help it release easily. Once inverted, place the cake back into the rice cooker pot and steam again using the ‘Steam’ or ‘Multi-Cook’ function for another 10-15 minutes. This second steaming ensures that the cake is cooked through evenly, resulting in a delightful texture.
Step 4
Once the aronia rice cake is fully steamed, let it cool slightly before cutting it into desired portions. For an extra touch of sweetness, you can drizzle honey or syrup over the slices before serving. Enjoy the wonderful combination of warm, chewy cake with the subtle flavor of aronia!
