Easy Red Bean Paste & Butter Pastry
Making Ang Butter Pastry: Super Simple Snack Recipe
Hello everyone! This is MonBayHyang 🙂 I absolutely adore pastries, but making them from scratch can be quite a hassle. That’s why I decided to use convenient, ready-made frozen pastry sheets! Even though I’d never seen or tasted Ang Butter before, I imagined how delicious it would be with my favorite pastry, and decided to create my own version. Shall we get started?
Ingredients- 1 Frozen pastry sheet (pre-made)
- 50g Butter
- 70g Sweet red bean paste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place the sliced pastry sheet with the cut side facing inwards. For an even crispier texture, you can lightly bake the thawed pastry sheet in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) for about 3-4 minutes. (Note: I used the pastry sheet directly after thawing as the filling ingredients were quite substantial.)
Step 2
Divide the red bean paste into two portions and spread it evenly onto one half of the pastry sheet. Be gentle, as the pastry can be delicate and might crumble.
Step 3
Place the softened butter, cut to a size similar to your pastry sheet, onto the red bean paste. The butter will melt and blend beautifully with the paste.
Step 4
Carefully place the other half of the pastry sheet on top to enclose the filling. Since the filling can be heavy, gently press down to avoid crushing the pastry as you cover it.
